INSURANCE COVERAGE

WE WORK WITH ALL MEDICAL INSURANCES

Please note that sleep apnea is a medical condition. Due to this, the dental appliance is billed under your medical insurance. Coverage varies greatly depending on each individual’s plan, including deductible and co-insurance amounts. During your complimentary consultation we will present your financial obligation based on the above listed criteria. Our primary goal is to minimize all out of pocket costs to the patient, to mitigate cost being a hindrance to treatment.

We work with all Medical insurances including Medicare and are well familiar with how to maximize your insurance coverage to minimize your out of pocket costs for your Sleep treatment. We do not like any surprises for our patients after the start or completion of the treatment. Thus, we will present to you our best estimate of treatment costs prior to the start of treatment. Once treatment has started, we will file a claim on your behalf as a courtesy to you.

We feel Insurance can be a great benefit for many patients and want you to know that we will do everything we can to ensure that you get every benefit dollar you are entitled to. To expedite your reimbursement of benefits, this office will provide you with verification of eligibility of benefits and claims submission as well as any follow-ups or appeals as needed on your behalf.

Please keep in mind your insurance is based upon a contract between your employer and the insurance company. Insurance benefits can vary from plan to plan. We will help you to understand what you can expect from your carrier. Your insurance never covers all your expenses, only a portion agreed to by the contract with your employer. Many routine services are not covered by insurance companies. This does not mean they aren’t necessary or appropriate, just not covered. We will help you to understand what coverage your employer has purchased for you. We ask you understand we do not work for the insurance companies; we work for you. We want to help you maximize your benefits, but we also do not want to be controlled by insurance companies nor the benefit packages they offer. Because we believe our responsibility is to you, we do not participate with insurance companies where the doctor – patient relationship is infringed upon by a third party.

We believe a cooperative effort between you and our office will result in a Service we are proud to render, and you are pleased to receive. We want to meet your needs in a way that adds significant value to your life.

“Insurance is a way to maintain health —- Not a way to obtain treatment you need.”

No one should avoid needed dental care just because he or she does not have dental insurance.

What you should know about your insurance:

  • The insurance company will do exactly what is written into its contract with you. No more than that.
  • They will not pay for what you need.
  • They will not pay for a procedure just because your dentist says it is necessary. Please read the fine print.
  • It is very important to read your policy to find out the specific.
  • Your dentists diagnose what you need not what the insurance dictates.

The concept of what is a “covered” procedure is not as straight forward as you may think. The procedure listed on the fee schedule with an amount that can be charged does not necessarily mean that this amount will be paid by the insurance company. It may be fully paid by the patient.
